Commencement Order

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (Commencement No.3, Savings and Transitional Provisions) Order 2016

This order brought the Act into force on 6 April 2016 and also made savings and transitional provisions.

Codes of Practice

Codes of practice have been issued under Section 145 of the Act. When exercising their social services functions, local authorities must act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code and have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.

Appointed Day Orders

The Social Services Codes (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2016

This Order appoints 6 April 2016 as the day on which the codes of practice issued by the Welsh Ministers under Section 145 (1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 come into force.

The Social Services Code (Role of the Director of Social Services) (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2016

This Order appoints 6 April 2016 as the day on which the Part 8 Code of Practice on the Role of the Director of Social Services (Social Services Functions) comes into force.
