Building regulations appeals

If an applicant believes that a particular requirement of Building Regulations is too onerous, or inappropriate, in the particular circumstances of their plans or building work, they have a right to apply to the local authority asking it to either relax or dispense with the requirement.

If the local authority refuses the application to relax or dispense with the requirement, the applicant has a right of appeal to the Welsh Ministers against that decision within one month of being notified.
