Residential tenancies

There are various types of residential tenancies available depending on the circumstances in each case, such as who the landlord is and when the tenancy was granted. It is essential to distinguish between these different types of tenancies as the processes around entering into and terminating a tenancy differ. The main types of residential tenancies are:

• Secure
• Demoted
• Introductory
• Assured
• Assured Shorthold Tenancy 

Once the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 comes into force the law relating to residential tenancies in Wales will change.
