The law in respect of countryside and access mainly deals with access to the countryside, including, statutory rights of access, coastal access, national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty (AoNBs) and common land.

Senedd Cymru has legislative competence in relation to countryside and open spaces (including the designation and regulation of national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty. This is subject to any reservations in Schedule 7A to the Government of Wales Act 2006.
